Welcome to Glaciate. This site was created as a tribute to none other than Ghetsis Harmonia Gropius, the primary antagonist of the Gen V Pokémon games. The title of this site comes from the move he commands Kyurem to use when encountering the player character in the Giant Chasm in Pokémon Black 2/White 2, and on a lesser scale, is the Sync Move he uses with Kyurem in Pokémon Masters EX.

I'm a college student, and that's about all I feel comfortable sharing. I started this site when I was in high school under a different moniker, and it went through several renditions before becoming what you see now. I am undoubtedly a Pokémon fan, but some of my other interests include Star Wars, Hunter x Hunter, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Ace Attorney, and other 3DS-related things (particularly Tomodachi Life and Miitopia).

I'm also very into languages -- I'm a native speaker of Ukrainian and Russian (alongside English, obviously) and I'm fairly decent at Japanese... I'd place myself at around the N4 level. I passed the N5 in 2021 (or maybe it was 2022? I need to find my certificate haha) but I've come a long, long way since then. Lastly, as a sort of summer project, I've also tentatively picked up German, though I haven't had nearly as much time to pursue it now that I'm back in university.

While it goes without saying that I am a Ghetsis fan, I'd like to go on the record to say that I don't hate N. I may not like him nor see the appeal he has to a fairly large portion of the fandom, but I don't hate him. I just think he's a well-written character full of nuances, and that's all, really.

I'd also like to state for the record that I am a Gretelshipping (Ghetsis/Hilda) fan. If this makes you uncomfortable, please either: avoid the conspicuously titled 'obligatory gretelshipping page' or simply exit my site. There is no Gretelshipping content outside of that page, but I'm certain it would make some people adverse to the rest of my website by proxy. Thank you.
